On Construction Domestic Energy Assessments

If you're building new homes, you need an energy assessment as part of the building regulations process. An On Construction Domestic Energy Assessment, or OCDA, is carried out during the build to make sure the property meets the required energy performance standards.

This isn't the same as a standard EPC. It's a more detailed assessment that takes place while the property is being built, not after. It looks at the design, the materials being used, and the energy systems being installed to confirm everything is compliant before the property is signed off.

I work with developers and builders across North Yorkshire to carry out these assessments at the right stages of the build process. Getting this right early avoids delays further down the line.

Who Needs an OCDA?

Developers building new residential properties. Self-builders constructing their own home. Anyone converting a building into a new dwelling.

How Does It Work?

A black icon of a document with three horizontal lines being examined by a magnifying glass.
A black clipboard icon paired with a magnifying glass containing a checkmark, representing a completed assessment or audit.
A black icon of a document with a seal and ribbon at the top, representing a certificate or diploma.

How Much Does It Cost?

OCDA pricing depends on the size and complexity of the project. Whether it's a single self-build or a larger development, I'll provide a clear quote based on the specifics.
